I broke the rope on my 10 hp lawn mower. Can I buy rope from the hardware store or do I need to buy the starter repair kit the rope is all that broke the handle is still good and reuseable

You can get the rope from a hardware store. Take a piece of the old one so that you get the right diameter. Get good quality stuff so that it lasts. Make sure that when you replace it you wind the spring a bit so that the rope pulls back in.

You can buy the rope with the handle on it at NAPA. I've sold a lot this summer already.
