Poor phrasing of the question. You mean the exchange rate is 0.8 euro/$ .
Answer is (150 $) (0.8 euro/$)
= 120 euros
This is an example of dimensional analysis; notice how the '$' cancels out from the numerator & denominator, leaving you with an answer in euros. It's a useful trick to remember.

150 *.8 = 150 dollars
120 Euros = 150 dollars
You wil get 120 Euros

you did not say whether the exchange rate was $1 for 0.8 euros or $0.8 for 1 euro.
I assume the first

if the 0.8 means 8 tenths then their saying it takes one of our dollars to equal .80 cents of theirs, so
euro / u.s.
$ 0.80 = $1.00
$8.00 = $10.00
$40.00 = $50.00
$80.00 = $100.00
$100.00 = $125.00
$120.00 = $150.00
just take u.s. amount example their rate is .80 cents on the dollar or 80 percent of the dollar so
50.00 - 20% = 40.00
in this case 20% of 50.00 is 10.00
