Without a doubt, Reggie Jackson. Check out some of these quotes:
"After Jackie Robinson the most important black in baseball history is Reggie Jackson, I really mean that."
"I am the best in baseball."
"I couldn't quit, because of all the kids, and the blacks, and the little people pulling for me. I represent both the underdog and the overdog in our society."
"I didn't come to New York to be a star, I brought my star with me."
"If I was playing in New York (A's Outfielder in 1973), they'd name a candy bar after me."
"I'm the straw that stirs the drink" (although he claims he's never said that)
"In the building I live in on Park Avenue there are ten people who could buy the Yankees, but none of them could hit the ball out of Yankee Stadium."
"The only difference between me and those other great Yankees is my skin color."
"The only reason I don't like playing in the World Series is I can't watch myself play."

I agree with a lot of the answers on the recent players. For old school, how 'bout one of the biggest pricks ever, Tyrus Raymond Cobb. Anyone around back then considered him to be the greatest and he acted like it. He definitely wasn't shy to let you know how good he was. He often warned players ahead of time that he was about to steal and would still steal the base successfully.

Rickey Henderson has to be near the top of the list. He may not have been the most vocal, but he showed as much attitude on the field as anyone else. Reggie Jackson is also high up there.

Ty Cobb is easily the worst. However, if you're going with modern players, its definitely Ricky Henderson wtih an honorable mention for Johnny Rocker.
