I live on the NSW side of Canberra and it is mighty cold here lately (we might have 5 degrees C here today) - middle of winter and that is at 3.40pm. The roads can go from staright freeway/motorway to dirt to beautiful twiisty's all within a days ride, so depending on what you feel like, will depend on where you go 3 hours and we get to Sydney, just under 2 hours and we are at Batemans Bay and can ride in the nice warmer climate of the caost, just over 1 hour and your at Cooma and have the wonderful Snowy Mountain Ranges to zoom about in.
I ride a Honda CB250 Nighthawk (because I live in Australia beginner riders are limited in the size of the bike they ride 150kw/t) I am now looking at the 500-750 class motorbikes because I am now able to go to a bigger bike and the old 250 has DEFINATELY be out grown. I ride because it gives freedom and sanity and pure utter enjoyment so much so, that words will never be enough
My Hubby rides a Suzuki GSXF750 (Katana in the USA) that he bought just over 8 years ago and still uses it every day (unless it snows, than he takes the car)

I also am just south of you in New Hampshire, east coast USA. I ride a 2006 HD 35th anniversary Superglide. Why do I ride? A story as changing as my life has been. I started for fun, then it grew. There were years I didn't ride much, then there were years I did. Now, I'm consumed by riding. Not the technical details, but the simple act. I take my motorcycle everywhere I go. The weather doesn't matter. It just is, can't change it. Today I drove one of my pickups, for the first time in over a year. I was glad to get back on the cycle to go to work. It moves me the way no other vehicle can.

I ride either a Honda Valkyrie Standard or, sometimes, a Honda VT600-C Shadow.. I like cruisers and Honda has never let me down. I ride because I love it.
I live on the Texas coast and can ride nearly year round. We are officially in the tropical zone with hot humid summers and mostly mild winters. This summer has been a little cooler than usual because of lots of rain. . 78°F/ 26°C at 11:40 pm, Monday.

I live just south of you in New Hampshire. I chose the same type of bike as you because our terrain is probably very similar. (Windy back country roads, plenty of hills and not always well paved). For that reason I pumped up the power and comfort on my V-Star with alot of aftermarket accessories like, Aftermarket pipes, air intake, windshield, saddle bags, etc.
I think had I to make the choice over again, I'd probably go larger. Something like an '07 Roadstar Silverrado1670cc.... Sweet bike for touring the White Mountains of NH and Green Mtns of VT.

Customized Harley 1991 FXR, the old lady has a tricked out 90 FXR and our Pit bull has a 91 Sportster.*pics on 360*
We live in California , we ride here, Nevada and Arizona on a regular basis.
Why? we like Harley's and I feel as though I've outgrown the guardrail denters.
In California it is currently 90 degree highs and 70 lows, When we were in Yosemite a few weeks ago (July 5th) it was 111 degrees.
50 degrees (f) feels cold to us.
Bull Head City( Arizona) was 122 degrees a few weeks ago, I like the heat ,but Damn! that is a bit much

I live in the U.S. and I ride a Suzuki V Strom 1000 because it's very versatile. I also ride a Harley Sportster because it is also very versatile and it's my favorite motorcycle. When I want to really relax and am riding short distances I ride the Harley Fat Boy. And when I want to tear up some twisty roads while traveling long distances I ride my 99 Buell ST3. It's currently 16 Celsius at 5:57 AM
