It depends on what kind of books you like to read.
"A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickins is really good, even though it's a little hard to get through in some parts. It's an ultimate classic!

The "Inheritance" Series by Christopher Paolini (sp?) is really good, in my opinion. If you saw or heard about the movie Eragon, that's what it's based on. Trust me, though, the books are MUCH better than the movie was.

"The Hobbit," and "The Lord of the Rings" by J.R.R. Tolkien are also really good... really long, but really good too!

"Party Monster" by James St. James is excellent. It's about the 80's/90's NYC club scene and the murder of a drug dealer named Angel by Michael Alig, who is currently doing time. The book is written in the point of view of James St. James, who knew Alig personally. There is a lot of drug use, so this is a book definitely not for kids. It's hilarious though! You can find it in the true crime section of your library/bookstore.

There is also a movie based on the book, starring Macaulay Culkin as Michael Alig and Seth Green as James St. James. I suggest you read the book first though.

I think all books are good but my favorite would probably be the third Harry Potter book or Lionboy.
