Yes and in or out of AA they need to stop drinking, period, before they kill themselves.One friend doesn't have much time left. The "program" works for those who want it, not those who need it. Great question for Q and A fans, and I bet Yahoo will take notice of it.

Yes. Not anymore... he died, and it's a shame.
I also know a guy who works as a cook at my favorite diner, and he recently decided to give up drinking because it was out of control.... I find it a highly commendable thing to do if you realize it's a problem, but I have never personally known anyone who went to AA.

I don't drink too often but when I do....or should I say did, I would get all trashed, wasted, out of control. Yeah, I could use some AA meetings.

Yes. Almost everyone I know drinks too much. They dont want to admit there is a problem so it is a downward spiral

i know way too many people who could fill up a couple AA meetings who drink too much....its so sad..i hate drinking

yes i know loads of people. i actually know a person who just signed up for some sort of AA meetings to get help. i am very proud that this person started to do this.

yes I know someone who drinks to much and I think they need to go in to treat meant senator and to go to an A.A. meetings!!

Yes, but I'm not sure if AA would help. Everyone comes around in their own way, who am I to say which way they should get help.

I know one or two but they'll never go. I'm not friends any more with them because I am 'no fun', cuz I don't drink like them.
