As a fan of the Falcons I am sad to say that I do believe Joey Harrington will be the starting QB in week 1 as well the rest of the season and YES, given the Falcons current Salary Cap issues Harrington is the best they can do.

Joey Harrington will be their QB on week one. As a Carolina Panther fan, I detest the Falcons. Having said that, I believe that they will have a lot of success without Vick. They are going into training camp knowing what their situation is and the coaching staff will prepare for it. Harrington is an able QB with all of the skills needed to be successful at the pro level. He has put up decent numbers and doesn't make many mental errors. He will be handing the ball off to Dunn and Norwood a lot at first. I also believe that they will utilize the screen passes and have Crumpler running some short hitch routes. All of this will get defenses cheating up and Harrington will start slinging it up top. Mark my words, "this is the best thing to happen to the Falcons since they fired June Jones". Vick truly is a coach killer because of his natural talent. His knee jerk reaction when he get's pressure is to run, which he is great at. Coaches in the NFL want a mobile QB but they want them to be great pocket passers FIRST. Vick will never be a pocket passer. It's not wrong, it's just not his strong suit. ATL has a good defense with one of if not the best cover corners in the game. You guys will be just fine. Hold on to Vick, so as not to take the cap hit, and trade his *** away when you can. It will work out for ATL and Vick.

Call me crazy but I am not sure about week 1 but they should release redman and joey will get hurt and D.J. Shokley will step and be better than vick. In all seriousnes Shockley but not in week 1 and not better than vick.

Damn, it's a shame to see harrington as anybody's choice of a QB. Beggers can't be choosers, that's for damn sure.
