Our non profit preschool had a raffle. Local businesses donated items and GCs and they were used as prizes in the raffle.
We have also had a bingo night with items that were donated as prizes.

How about a babysitting club. See about getting someone to donate a building for a night that you can use, or someone that has a large home, and advertise (Craigslist is a good place for this in the childcare section) for a special night with games, and craft activities for kids so parents can have a special date night. Charge $5 an hour per child.

A bake sale, carnival, chinese language raffle, raffle some thing off, a dance, grownup or baby bingo night, a dinner for a reason, a play, a action picture night, a board pastime or wearing adventure night, an public sale. the opportunities are countless. fee a small admission, ask for donations and furnish exposure for a company that donates, fee a small cost for exposure for agencies in a publication. it might help to renowned what you are attempting to advance money for. Is it for babies, adults, a university, a reason? it might open an entire new set of innovations. good success!

We do Bikini Car washes in NJ to raise money for all different things. It's amazing how much money you will raise when you have gorgeous bikini clad women outside.
One event we do is called "Hooters for Neuters" All the hooter girls wash cars in bikinis to raise money to neuter animals for people that cannot afford it.
