The atmosphere was crazy! I was eagerly watching from home and could not beleive how awesome the game was. Do you think that after the buzz he created there were some newly born soccer fans on Saturday night? Did he actually achieve what he set out to do, even if only a little bit? I could only imagine when he is at full health!

At the end of the 2008 season, it will be a better gauge. I don't know that 15 minutes on the pitch is going to attract millions of new TV viewers and thousands of fans to stadiums. Beckham has the league on his shoulders, and that may be his biggest challenge of all.

So far, so good---he's won the attention of the media, and--through them--America. Now he's got to perform well enough on the field to hold it. Good luck to him. I'm rooting for him.
