I imagine it would sober up a lot of people and even turn hardened criminals into altar boys.
It sure would put a damper on the loose morals of today.
We might even be able to live without worrying about someone invading college dorms and shooting a lot of people.

No one has, but let's start the process.
Please provide the geographical coordinates for these two locations. An approximation would be fine. We have a system of mathematics that would allow us to plot these areas in the depths of space or in the depths of some other planet.
The "heavens" is a general terms used for thousands of years to mean up in the sky. Please narrow it down. We have the Hubble telescope that can help narrow the search.
If your "soul" has any height, weight, or mass, we should be able to find it. After all, a heaven would have to encompass or be large enough to house millions.
Even if a soul is just energy, we should be able to detect a place with that much energy. If you believe a heaven has animals and insects then that heaven would be easily detected by modern astronomical equipment.
So, where is this heaven that you refer to.
I'd actually like to have a few words with Hitler, so pointing me in the direction of hell would be useful. Which, of course, assumes that this is where he is.
You have a long way to go for evidence before I'll even entertain the notion of what would change.

A very profound and basic question in our life.
Some times man tends to forget the basic things in life, and in our age where we run at a fast pace, man has nearly forgot (or made to forget) the obvious.
Ever since our creation, man knew the idea of heaven and hell. The rule is do good and obey your creator, you will be in heaven in the afterlife. Do evil, and you will have to face the consequences (in life and in the afterlife).
If we come to "realize" this notion, our actions will be completely different and our prospectives will take another direction. Simple example is: if you are taking a plane to a certain destination, would you really care about where to sit or who is next to you. Your main goal is to get there. Our minds have narrowed down so much that we care about small things and tend to forget the big picture.
And this is the situation where man is in now. Ask your self "why" am I created?? and think of this life and the universe around you, sure you will find the answer very near to you.

It wouldn't.
People know that smoking kills them yet they continue to do it. People would still choose to be good or evil. I don't think it would really influence that many evil people to change their ways. People commit crimes knowing that they could go to jail. So they will continue to commit them even if they know they're going to Hell. At least that's what I think...hard to say since there is no absolute proof of Heaven & Hell to offer everyone. Most of it is faith.

It wouldn't change very much. Maybe some people will be frighten to see the light but that won't stop all from doing what they do.
It's like saying, "Ok! It is scientifically proven that smoking causes lung cancer and lung cancer causes death!"
Does that stop people from lighting one up? Hell no.

The knowledge would be useless without a clear set of behavior guide lines, at present there are multiple conflicting sets.
Other wise it would be panic, pandemonia and despair.

everyone would start freaking out. if the whole world had a uniform realisation at the same time that would scare the crap out of people.
......and some people would make alot of $$$ selling tickets to the afterlife.
