You are going to continue to have more and more babies until you start having issues with water quality. You should keep the barb and feed him a few of the smaller, less colorful babies. Only grow out the ones you keep. Serious breeders cull the unsatisfactory babies. You will have a hard time dealing with them all and then you will wish you still had something to help keep their numbers down.

Many pet stores, excluding the big chains, will take back fishies as trades, that may be the best way. They will find new homes and often you get something in return. Either way, they will be in a good place...

Join your local freecycle group and offer them up to someone for free. To find yours, look up the name of the town you're in and add 'freecycle' at the end.. example "denverfreecycle".. someone would be happy to take those fish off of your hands... if the town you're in is small, go for the next biggest town close to you. Yahoo has a bunch of freecycle groups.

The first step to getting rid of extra fish is proper grammar. Once you master this, you can call the pet store and put them up for adoption. Without this vital skill (English), all your hope is lost.

You should buy another tank if you are so worried. Petco takes fish.
