Just make sure all the dishes are rinsed well and just run a regular wash. The water gets hot enough to kill germs. Use heat dry.

LIke everyone else said it will make TONS of suds. But I do use it every now and then when I run out of the other kind do not use any more than a coupld of DROPS or one little squirt about the size of a dime or you will be mopping up bubbles forever. I don't think it will hurt the maching as I tend to do this a couple of times a month for several years now and my dish washer still works fine. I do pour vinegar in my to rinse away all of the grease, or whatever in the hoses and such. (i do this when i have a load of plastics or even empty.) Good luck

Do you mean regular dishwashing liquid in a dish washer? NO! It foams easier than specific soaps made for dishwashers. My husband did this trying to help me out and we had bubbles everywhere.

I have used reg. dish soap in my automatic dishwasher without any problems. Just don't put as much as you would the other kind. And it doesn't clean the dishes as well, because the water cuts the soap power quicker than it would the auto dish powder or gel.

No. It won't get your dishes clean and probably won't make it through your dishwasher's system too well either...I would suggest just sticking to the dishwasher soap...there is a reason they make it.

If you do be sure you dont put more than a tiny tiny bit like a teaspoon ful. I did it once and the suds went all the way out the door and down the stairs, OMG it wasnt funny then but now I can laugh
