should utilities such as garbage, water, gas, and electric be ran by the government since regulations can be upheld and the sanitary issues Oakland faces now (and for the past four weeks) be avoided? This would allow for uninterrupted services.....?!?!?

Yes! Turn everything over to the government! Government is good, government is your friend. Costs will soar, but hey problem solved. How about taking the thousands of bums in Oakland who do nothng but gangbang all day and use them to pick up said trash?
