Yes we will. I like the fact that we have not been hit since 911 but our president will never get credit for that or anything else like low unemployment, robust economy, just blame, weird isn't it?

Uhhhhh, yeah. Just like when they attacked the world trade center the first time, and the second, and the Cole and the... It is safe to assume that something will happen again. Contrary to what the left would want you to believe. We're never going back to Sept. 10th, 2001.

Of course it is! Fighting terrorism isn't like fighting a country.
We defeated Iraq, executed Saddam and moved on in the fight against terrorism, but it's not the same.
It's like fighting disease (an analogy, not an insult). We will never win that fight. They will always regroup. They will always be there. At best we can beat them down until they are an annoyance rather than a threat.
Same with terrorists.
The alternative, for both, is to give up...
...and die. No, thank you.

the general consensus of opinion suggests we will be hit on U.S. soil. the severity of the hit and it's location are impossible to predict.
the most devastating aspect of said attack will be what occurs afterward. the potential for overreaction is great, and will affect financial markets, governmental crackdowns and public panic. in short...the after-effects will likely be more destructive than anything the terrorists can hope (in their wildest dreams) to accomplish.
if you doubt this consider...9-11 though deadly and destructive locally, had a ripple effect that led to government secrecy, the Iraq problem, hyper-deficit spending, polarization of the American people and numerous other difficulties.

Yes, it is a war. No matter how much security there is a bomber will always get through. Are we going to sell out our national character in the name of security?

Yes.
Historically, it's impossible to stop all criminals, or all enemies. Too many opportunities, too many ways in, too many probably already here. There's no way to prevent all crime, and no way to prevent all terrorist activity.
The best we can do is try to minimize the damage, and prevent the real atrocities where thousands of lives are lost.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt. That's what happens when you try to "rule the world".
Unfortunately, my country is also on the list because our current Prime Minister seems to be a Bush "wannabe".
