"In My Life" by Lennon and McCartney (Lennon, really)
There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more

Beyond my parents, I'm not sure who I would reference with this. There is no other great love which overwhelms all other thought. It's not so much the story of my life as a description of a wistfulness about the past and love that resonates in me.

I also like Maurice Ravel's "Pavane pour une Infante Defucte," because it's sad and beautiful.

The Gate -- Sam Roberts

"And I've spent seven years and a sea of fears in this broken mirror of a city
Listen to the streets
There's a heartbeat missing in the city
Sweet sunlight,
I can see it in my mind's eye
And I remember feeling alright"

It's just so perfect
In wording how I feel.

That's an interesting perspective. Buddhists have been arguing quite the contrary for a few thousand years.

I would argue that if you want to feel unpleasant states, then think.

Thanks for asking.

"Unchained Melody".
It was written for a prisoner in the movie
"Unchained"; and I have been a prisoner of
bureaucratic tyrants in this country for
50 years. It speaks to me, and for me,
as the leading rational mind and writer on planet.
