my wife is 31 wks with our first son, and our list of potential names isn't getting any shorter.
I wouldn't mind James Jr., but this is our list of alternatives:
Cole
Francis
Nicholas
Kai
Justin
Elliot
Steven

I really like the names Cole and Nicholas. You could combine the names and have a name like Cole James or Nicholas Cole. Those are some really cute names. I am sure you will find the the perfect name for your son. Congratulations to you and your wife!

I like Nicholas and I think Cole could be a nn for Nicholas so I would say either of those. But I think it would be great to name him after you. If not James Jr. then maybe Jameson (james'-son)

I like James Jnr. People could call him by his full name of James Jnr or by the nicknames Junior or JJ.
From your list I can't narrow it down to only two but three:
Nicholas, Kai and Elliot
You and your wife have narrowed it down to some great names.

PS. looking at the names I think Elliot Kai has a very nice sound to it, it's kind of like traditional meets modern (anyway just my opinion)

Well you dont want common names. Francis may be to much what you have to do in choosing a name for your baby is think of how mean kids are. REALLY, and go throught the name you have chosen and see how you can pick on them. You dont want a name that your son will be picked on about. I like Kai alot though

Because I don't like "trendy" names (Cole), I love the name Elliot. That's the only one I like. It's not overused (like Nicholas and Justin), but it's not dull like Steven (or, no offense, James Jr.) Children deserve to have their own identity, not to mention the problems it causes when the child is older....
