Of the 3 books you list to read next I would recommend The Dead Zone ( it was the first King book I read & got me hooked for life). They are all really good. The Shining novel is much more detailed than the movie so it would also be a good one to read - you will go "Oh that explains it" a few times if you've already seen the movie. It's hard to pick favourites but The Stand & also The Talisman are at the top of the list for me. Now I want to reread them all!

Read all of them!
I am a Stephen King freak, lol....
While I love the Jack Nicholson movie - The Shining - the book is a lot different, and better.
The Dead Zone is good too, as well as Insomnia.
My favorite King books are;
The Eyes of the Dragon - it is so un-King like... very good
Pet Semetary - I read it in 6th grade and had nightmares, it is the only book that has ever freaked me out like that
The Stand - an amazing apocalyptic tale
The Gunslinger series - the last book is kinda cheesy as King writes himself into the story, but they compile a terrific story
I also like Gerald's Game, Needful Things and It.
His newest novel, Lisey's Story, is good too.
Oh my heck... they are all good, so I guess I shouldn't start rattling them off, or I'll list them all ;)
Have fun and enjoy your adventure in King's twisted mind!

I liked Insomnia. I would go to read the Dark tower series next. It is his self proclaimed "Opus" and you meet so many of his other characters.
Misery is awesome. so is The Stand and Pet Semetary. Gerald's Game was hard to get into for me.

Misery is good. I kinda remember It being really scary. He's got an excellent book of short stories but the name escapes me.

They're all great! Right now I am reading "Desperation" and I just bought his latest 'Lisey's Story". I have read nearly all of his books and have enjoyed them all. Good reading!

"Salems Lot" is my favorite King novel. Check it out if you haven't read it yet.
