I do alot of online shopping (mostly from Amazon) so I get quite a few deliveries a week, mostly from UPS. I am familiar with the online tracking option that UPS uses and I've found it to be accurate (as far as delivery estimation and places my orders have been prior to delivery).

But recently I've ordered some merchandise off eBay and the seller uses FedEx to ship orders. I was given a tracking number and the FedEx website to check in on my order.

I noticed that once the package gets to a certain point it stops giving any new information on the status of the package.

For example the website will read basically:

JULY 15th
6:46pm - July 14th - Left Origin
5:06pm - package data transmitted to FedEx
4:35pm - Arrived At FedEx Location
2:05pm - Picked Up

JULY 22nd
12:05pm - Package Delivered

There is quite a jump there. A week to be exact where the package doesn't even seem to be moving then BAM, it's on your doorstep.

Why is it set up like this?

The shipper most likely did something wrong. When a package is shipped the data is transmitted to FedEx so they have it in their system electronically. If the label has an issue or the barcode was disfigured and cannot be scanned, the package will get relabeled and sent on it's way. In this instance, the new label does not match the data in the system so it just ships to it's final destination without electronic updates.

FedEx is one of the most IT heavy companies in the world, you should expect to see near real-time accurate data from them under normal circumstances.

it incredibly is "On FedEx vehicle for transport" which skill it incredibly is on the truck for transport. it is going to probable bypass out on Monday. "Out for transport" is what's usually listed while it incredibly is on a vogue on your place. the three-5 day is transport day and relies upon on what time the order is place. If it incredibly is after extensive-unfold organisation hours the transport days commence day after in the present day. So if ordered on the twenty 8th = 3-5 days may be each time between in the present day & Wednesday of next week.
