I did not find it odd at all.
What possible answer could they have given to help their cause if the question concerned a policy which they have repeatedly accepted as defeat? Their Senate leader has even publicly announced that the United States has lost the war. Imagine if each of them had been asked if he or she had voted in favor to give Bush authorization to invade Iraq originally - followed up by asking why they now so blatantly want the United States to fail in Iraq.
It would have gotten very hot and uncomfortable for the candidates - and that was never the intentions of these "debates."

I see that you heard DICK MORRIS make that "slanted" observation on tonight's O'Reilly show. So why don't you mention the response that he got?

To the rest of you, what the asker omits from his PARTISAN INNUENDO is that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq WERE MENTIONED. The attempted bombings in the U.K. WERE MENTIONED. Bin Laden (rememember him?) WAS MENTIONED ...by name. The fact is that hacks and ideologues are trying to make political hay because a WORD was not used, but THE SUBJECT was freely discussed and the ASKER knows this to be true.

Fudged "facts" and outright LIES is what got us into this "shi-ite" in the first place and you guys are still at it. At some point we all have a GREATER responsibility to the American people and the U.S. Constitution than we owe to ANY POLITICAL PARTY OR ANY DIVISIVE IDEOLOGY.

It's past the time for you to give up the KOOL-AID...and I'll STOP SMOKING ...whatever it is that we "LIBS" smoke...

Look, I don't give a damned if you EVER LIKE ME and I'm sure that your feeling is mutual. But for the survival of OUR country and it's ideals, we have got to at least be HONEST with each other!

Yes... This issue wasn't addressed directly but I thought Dennis Kucinich indirectly answered it very well with the comment to use recently acquired funds to bring our troops home. I believe this would certainly have an effect on the threat of terrorism to diminish in this country.

No,doesn't surprise me, because terrorism doesn't exist to the Liberal mind. They think it's something Bush made up. Just listen to these people, half of them blame America for 9-11.

The other half think legalizing drugs and hugging trees are more important..

i imagine the only videos submitted regarding terror were of the "911 was a inside job" variety and they threw them out in a stunning show of sensibility. hillary did mention bin laden in passing though.

Terrorism is the job for the military, and the new pres. will address the issues as they arise. There are so many more important issues right now, like education and health care reform, that the debate used that time to address those issues. Republicans want to dodge the real issues, that's why they use propaganda like terrorism and abortion.

Of course not, they weren't going to field any of the hard questions. I didn't like at all those two "good ole boys" that were on asking the question. First of all, it was all staged and secondly, I didn't like how the group laughed and made fun of them. Shows you what they all really think of the hardworking country person.
