I had a C-section 2 months ago and I still can't get my wedding rings back on. I had a lot of swelling during the end of my pregnancy, and I also gained about 50 pounds. So I took my rings off at about 20-24 weeks or so. My shoe size went up one size, and I read that will never change. Is it true with finger size as well? I don't want to jump the gun and get my rings resized if it's just an issue of waiting a few more months. I've lost 35 pounds already, but it seems it's my knuckle bone the rings don't want to go over. Thanks!

Yup! Your ring size is in relation to your weight, and once you get down to pre-preggo SIZE there's a good chance you'll be able to fit in those rings again!!

Congrats on the 35 pounds! Sadly, it's always that 35 pounds still won't put you anywhere close to your old size. I gained only 15 pounds but went up 2 sizes.

Congratulations on the baby! I had the same question as you about ring sizes. For me, it's been 8 months since my daughter was born and my rings were still too tight. Of course I still have 15 pounds left to lose (the hardest of all). I'm hoping when the weight comes off that my fingers will be thinner too, but I got tired of waiting for that to happen. I got my wedding band resized, but that was expensive plus it feels difficult to figure out the correct size to order (even with help). Also, with re-sizing, after I dropped my ring off I cried (I know it's just a thing but...........).

I'd give it a little more time. You could have developed a bit of arthritis in your fingers, causing your joints to swell a bit as well as the muscle tissue. Try rubbing some aspercream, or other pain relief cream on your fingers, wait about 45 mins or so, then try to put your rings on. Even if this doesn't work, make an appointment and see a rhumatologist, and give it at least 4 more months before you invest money in having your rings sized.

Well I gained 60 pounds with my first child and had to loose the wedding rings. Then I gained more than that with my second child and had to loose the rings. I now wear my rings again. So I would think you should give it a little more time before you have them resized. You'll be back to almost your oldself in no time....

When you get back to your normal weight your rings will fit again. I Gained 75lbs 3 times and I had 2 c-sections with my last 2. But I am very skinny now and shoes that I had before do not fit and neither do my rings. I moved them up to other fingers but believe me when you lose weight or vice versa you lose it every where! or you gain it every where Just give it a little time and perhaps it will all fit again

It all depends on if you lose more weight, after my first baby, I never fit in mine so I had them sized, after I lost all the weight, I got it resized. I figure it was better to go a week without it getting it sized rather then wait around for me to lose the weight.

It takes a while but you should be able to wear it again. If it doesnt in a couple of weeks/months id just get it resized.

Of course they will. After all is said and done and your body evens out again (chemically balanced) you will be able to diet and exercise again, and your fingers will go back to normal size.

Don't worry.....it will happen.
