Will this carry forward into next season, will it go away, or will this be it for alot of fans?

Its a huge problem and I can't see how it will just go away next season, especially if Game 3 of the Suns-Spurs series turns out to be one that Donaghy bet on. If so, then I bet it'll be years until the talk dies down, as it should be.

If that game WAS one in question, it more or less decided the NBA champion. Dallas was out, and had Phoenix won that game there would've been a game 7 if nothing else. The calls and decisions in that series were questionable/controversial as is, but if that game was decided by a crooked ref then all hell will break loose. People will say the Spurs were handed the championship, they don't deserve it, the Suns were screwed, etc. That might be overly dramatic but in a series like that it was bad enough screwing the fans over with the unjust suspensions for game 5. Add this to it, and I doubt it will ever be forgotten. 2007 will be remembered by some as the year the Suns got screwed royally.

Its very big, its not even just a black eye, you could call it a full blown assault on the NBA's integrity as a league.

I believe it will take more than this season for the NBA to live this scandal down. Eventually it will blow over but not after the NBA takes drastic steps to show to everybody that they are making each necessary precaution to prevent this incident from ever happening again.

Expect Stern to put his foot down & impose an iron rule on everybody involved directly 7 indirectly in the officiating of NBA games from hereon.

It is a potential huge problem, especially if the situation expands to other people. It is damage control time and the effort will be focused on the integrity of the game and implementation of new policies to insure it will never happen again. I believe if this situation explodes into something much more the future of the game would be a some risk and Stern could have a big problem with his own status.

As Stern said, this guy broke a sacred trust. If the integrity of the game is questioned, you have a huge problem. You should be able to go to a game and not already have the outcome decided, point spread or otherwise. Otherwise, it's no different than the WWE.

It's tough cuz now it's hard to trust the NBA and any other refs if they make seemingly one-sided calls.

Of course it will carry into next year. No one will ever be able to trust them again. It was obvious to me that something funny was going on with officiating in the NBA.

it won't go away until david stern resigns and Kobe gets equal treatment by the refs and league as Wade or Lebron or Nash
