I'm curious about something. Mike Vick's career is being threatened because he tortured some dogs. Now before I begin, I don't want anyone to misunderstand me for one second and think that I am implying that what he did (if he did it) is okay, but don't people do worse things to animals. For starters, people hunt solely for the sport of hunting. Isn't that killing a living thing for sport? Then on a national level hundreds of animals are euthnized daily because they are "taking up too much space" or for "stray population control". So effectively, if animals can be killed for fun and be killed just to make more room for ourselves, assuming that Vick is guilty as charged, what is the difference between him killing dogs and your local animal shelter killing "unclaimed" healthy non-threatening animals and your uncle hunting. I have a problem with this. If he did it, it is disguisting and sick, but don't we (general population) do the same sh*t? Tell me what you guys think.

Think about this guys: When many people see spiders, they step on them. We don't let the fly out of the house, we spray the hell out of it with raid. On so many levels, at least to me, we do the same things.

I have noticed that you guys that feel like He should be hung for this keep pressing on the illegality thing. So what? Does the law have that much influence over you all? Think about the things that were legal: SLAVERY was legal, the CRUCIFIXION of Jesus was legal, the OCCUPATION OF IRAQ is legal, the aftermath of KATRINA was legal. The list goes on. Hell, UNARMED black people getting harassed and KILLED by police is legal. That has been going rampant for 60+ years. No one cares about that. The news gives you the initial outrage of the offended community for a day or two and then it is no longer newsworthy. Yet VIck is a top story on CNN. Damn! We give more respect to animlas than some human beings.

If any other high profile person with customer visibilty employed by a corporation (ex: newsman, company officer, coach, etc were indicted on such horrible charges they'd be in extreme trouble with their employer. I'm just a salesman and if I got indicted on those charges so that my customers knew about it, I'd be fired with no pay immediately because our customers would't buy from me. . I'm not saying "Guilty" before proven, but fans are customers and alot of people other than Vick are impacted. Vick is just an employee like the rest of us, albeit a talented one for football, which in today's market has gotten Vick alot of money....ONLY because of the value fans place on watching him. The NFL and Falcons are as much businesses as any I or you have ever worked for,,,,and business is business. The risk to the NFL for putting Vick on the field is very big....imagine 40,000 home fans booing their team weekly, sales of products coming down dramatically....a business owners worst nightmare coming true! And yes most people would perceive electrecuting and slammining dogs to the ground to kill them is worse than stomping on a bug or painless euthanasia administered reluctantly by animal shelters to dogs we society willing to adopt. If someone or a dog you loved were to have to die, which method would you choose ...? No doubt about it lots of people love dogs. Also it's my perception that that kind of cruelty to animals shows manifestation of some horrible anger inside a person who would actually do that...and among millions who likely feel that way, Im not alone. If it were my team or I was NFL management I'g put the businesses and customersr fears and interests first (ie., teams, (fans)) and then Michael Vick....wouldn't you?????. If it was my own brother I'd do and think the same.

Why do so many of you care about this situation. Animals are grown to be killed by farmers everyday. Should we prosecute them? Hunters kill animals in the wild, people kill insects. Whats the difference between an insect and a dog? People just want to have Mike Vick convicted because he's a high profile player. What did he do to you. Im tired of all this PETA crap!!!! They're so annoying. How come they don't protest at every meat factory and hunting store in America? No, they want to come after the guy who's making the millions and not to mention he's black.

Regardless of your moral standing on this, he is breaking long standing laws.
On the morale side he is letting dogs attack and kill each other and then killing the loser if not already dead is messed up.
Stepping on spiders, euthanizing stray dogs, hunting etc... is a whole different thing from sadistically letting dogs kill each other for gambling profits.
Vick is not a victim, he did not grow up privileged so why would he jeprodize his millions for this. He obviously feels or felt he was untouchable. Continuing his football career maybe the least of his worries, he could be looking at time in state or federal prison.

There is a HUGE difference beween dogs and spiders. So that argument is not relevant.
Yes animals are euthinized, but they are killed peacefully, not tortured. Again, there is difference.
I think all people everywhere should be held accountable for their actions...even if your rich and famous. Especially if you are rich and famous.
I think people are making a bigger deal out of Vick's dog torture than it really is, but its not like he does not have plenty of money to live comfortable for the rest of his life. Thats a hell of a lot better than most people.

I'm sick of hearing your opinion. No "WE" don't do the same sh*t. The human f-ing race shouldn't hurt a more innocent species. Animals have dont nothing to us, dogs are more loyal than people. You're a disgusting person. Go to he**. Vick should rot in jail & never play football again. I hope his career goes down the drain after this.

My problem with vick is not just the dog fighting but what about the gambling I work with racehorses so I know a little about betting. So he gambles on the dogfights right but does it stop there probally not. I like to gamble not only do I bet on horses I'll wager on football, basketball, etc. So maybe mike vick does too. don't know but it is a thought, Imean if your dumb enough to get involved in illegal activities like dog fighting whats to stop you from the occassional bet on football. So yes his career should be taken away not just because of the dogs but for just being plan stupid. ( i didn't go to college but I know not to be involved in criminal acts that could cost me millions of dollars and my freedom)

Hunting is a bit of a gray area. If the proper permits are obtained it is legal. Vick's antics were illegal, and will always be illegal regardless of the circumstances. I can't imagine he was oblivious as to the legality of his actions, so I really have no sympathy for him. He should be jailed. I guess I'll have to use a different team in Madden now.

Since his lively hood is based on having fans, then yes, it should be taken away. Working is a privilege, not a right, and therefore the people who ultimately pay his salary, the fans, have the right to take it away from him if they choose. If I were an Atlanta fan, I would want him out of there.

Yes, take his livelihood, take his life--I can read how you feel about it, but this is how I feel about it--
I would pay alot of money to see Vick suffer as he has made these animals suffer...I know, I know you say makes me as bad as he is...maybe--- but I don't think so...And you know, I don't really care. It's how I FEEL. These animals he tortured and abused and murdered hadn't done anything to anybody, but he has done plenty--and he should pay for it...
Yes, I would PAY to see him suffer for about 4 quarters then put out of his misery. I would absolutely enjoy it, probably buy some popcorn and nachos and settle in for the show!!!!
