Not consistent weight loss, obviously, because the point is to be gaining weight, and I had been, but then this past week I somehow lost 5 pounds. I don't even know how because my diet hasn't changed.

Has this happened to anyone else?

It's common with vomiting to lose weight. For a loss of 5 pounds, it could have just been a loss of internal swelling that comes with pregnancy. However, be sure to mention to your doctor. It is likely a non-problem unless it continues.

My grandmother lost 15 pounds and had a healthy 8 pounder (my Dad) and my co-worker was 25 lbs. below pre-pregnancy weight 3 days after giving birth to 39 week twins. They were healthy as well.

It is normal-- especially if you are over weight--- I lost w/both of mine- did not gain any till the last trimester and then it was only 15 pounds the first time and 12 the second. As long as the baby is gromwing and you are eating healty foods all is well I would say but I would still ask your doctor. Also rember the foods you eat determine your childs IQ so stay away from junk food and fast food ;)

Yes, this happened to me actually. But I didn't actually lose weight. My doctor's office got a new scale. It showed that I had lost 7 pounds. But when I asked to be weighed on the old scale, it said I had gained 3. Not ususally something to be worried about usually, as long as it isn't consistant. But if I were you I'd just talk to my doctor, just to feel a little better about it.

As long as you don't consistently lose weight, it's okay. You don't say how far along you are, but especially in the beginning of the pregnancy it's perfectly normal.

I lost about 15 pounds in my first trimester. I just stayed so sick! My doctor told me not to worry about it as long as the end result was weight gain.
