No, I don't agree. You can live your life in happiness if you choose to do so. It is no more than a matter of choosing to be happy. Life will always hand you ups and downs, how you perceive them and what you do with them is the important part. If you choose to dwell on the negative you will live unhappily. If you choose to make the best of every situation and learn from your setbacks, you can be happy at any time.
Remember that life is a great big adventure that you don't get to rewind. You either choose to be happy or you don't. But whatever you choose, you can't go back so be sure you are choosing the mindset that you want.

Well it only comes when we stop yearning for permanent bliss - and then it's near enough and good enough, I think. I believe I've had it for some time. It's inside, independent of outside, though things outside can increase it, and sometimes disturb it - like the reflections of sunlight or the riffling of a passing breeze across "the pool within". And it must be achievable in less than a complete lifetime, because I'm not dead yet! But it takes effort and thought, and time, to acquire.

Yes you can achieve things you say you cannot conceive. There are so many things out there for one to achieve. Sometimes you cant to conceive them but in the meantime You enjoyed achieving the concept of something you could conceive. So what you didnt win the lottery but you at least matched a couple of numbers and won 5 or 10 bucks. You have fun achieving the chance to try and win alot. To conceive or get something for nothing is not achieving..Its really deep down inside someone who really wants to achieve(work hard) who in the end is the one who conceives or wins in the end.

Happiness and Joy are two different states.
Happiness is a transient emotion, which can come and go as often as the wind.
yet Joy is something deeper and can remain even in the times of trial. Joy is the inner conviction of a positive outlook that says deep within us... everything will turn out well in the end. even during the tough times, joy can stay anchored withing, giving us hope that the stroms will pass.
2 corinthians 8 describes this phenomenon..
Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own,
see they were under "severe trial" yet they had "overflowing joy" how can this be?
it is because joy is an unshakable conviction that shall not be taken away from us. In this case the source of their joy was founded on Jesus and the hope he has anchored in the hearts of those who are secure in his grace and love.
and romans 8:38 says
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
thanks for your question, got me thinking (-:

Many people today are not happy, because of a number of reasons, loss of hope being one of them. I am happy, even if i get a little depressed because i live my life by the bible, and i can honestly say that i have a firm hope for the future, answers to all my problems, and a unconditional love for god and his son.

Happiness is momentary. It leaves when dark clouds enter the picture. I want JOY--lasting peace, satisfaction, regardless of my external circumstances! I love serendipity too--unexpected, unanticipated happiness!

Happiness is the presence of four states of being:
Humility, gratitude, self-love, and generousity
While these don't appear in a moment, they don't need to take a lifetime either.

Happiness is fleeting. It comes like a swift breeze and just as swiflty departs.
Happiness in and of itself should not be something we waste our life trying to attain. The perfect life is not a happy life. It would be the life lived trying to attain perfection in what you do.
I don't agree.

Yes and no. It's more to it than that and you know it. It depends what criterion we attribute to make up the framework of what we consider to be "happiness". Money may not be able to buy happiness. However, there is much to be said about the amount of privacy it can purchase! That's real!

If you are truely happy you have come to terms with youself no matter how long you have lived....Think about it , the minute before you know that you will die will be the moment when you will know if you have found true happiness or not...
Some of us do not need to go that route....
