I want to tell my best friend of eleven years that I am gay. But, she can be kind of close minded about certain things, like homosexuality. This is the only secret I have ever kept from her and it is killing me but, I'm afraid to tell her. What if she won't be my friend any more? Do you think I should tell her and risk it? or keep it a secret?

If she is really your friend, she will accept you. In fact you may be what changes her mind. I would think if she's known you 11 years, she'd have a clue.

Echoing what others have already said, if she isn't willing to accept you for being you, then she isn't worth having as a friend.

She might need some time to adjust, or she may already have her suspicions. If she simply cannot handle it, then wave goodbye to her and walk away.

If you don't tell her it could tear you two apart. But, if you do tell her she could decide to walk away. It looks like neither option is good, so take some time to figure out which one you really want.

Well if she can't accept you for you.. Then she is simply not a good friend. Sorry, but it's the truth. Real friends will accept their friends for who they are, not things like religion, sexuality..

if she can't accept you, she's not really a friend - or a decent person of any kind.
