So what's your question?
The answer is this is one reason why the elections are so important. The Democrats believe in a woman right to choose to have an abortion. The Republicans want abortion to be made illegal.
Supreme Court Justices get selected based on which party is in control of Congress and White House at the time that one resigns or dies and needs a replacement.
If the Republicans can be in the majority for long enough, then they can stack the Supreme Court with people who share their values, and get Roe vs. Wade totally overturned.

Yea, the supreme court ruled upholding partial birth abortion ban. Which may be preview of future abortion case if there should be any.
Although the decision does not effect other types of abortion there are number of states passing some type of abortion restriction bills at state level. They are hoping that people will argue against such bills and the case will be brought to US Supreme Court.
Lot of people are trying to bring abortion case to US Supreme Court that way. And with Roberts, Alito in there along with Scalia, Thomas there's about 50/50 chance the court will over turn Roe v Wade. If the case is brought to US Supreme Court.

No. That's not what the legal holding was.
The Court ruled that Congress can regulate medical practice, and can make determinations about what is considered acceptable medical practice.
And the Court ruled that laws regulating medical practice no longer need to provide an exception when the medical procedure is necessary for the health of the mother.
The Court did not rule that partial birth abortions are bad. The Court ruled that Congress had the right to outlaw them.

Not quite. I agree, it is a bit worrying to see this (predominately conservative) court playing around with very serious issues, but, I'm quite sure that a full repeal of Roe v. Wade will never happen. Here's way:
1. NOW (National Organizatin for Women).
2. PLANNED Parenthood & Lobbies.
3. Women have the vote now.
4. Finally, Gloria Steinem will kick every neocons a#* from here to texas.

Who gives a dam.
Let me put it this way; until the Government starts putting a law enforcement official in every delivery room in the United States, nobody knows what goes on in that room except the doctor and the woman.
A partial birth abortion is a rarely used procedure that, when done, is used to save the mothers life.

Good unless the pregnancy is going to kill the mother...there isn't a reason for it..
What...is there a "trial period" of six months to determine "if" you want to be pregnant or have a baby?
There are ways to terminate a pregnancy PRIOR to the second semester.
