Being a Nurse and working in a Doctor's office you have too. I have seen patients treated so badly by the front desk personnel that I have wanted to cry because they were old people and couldn't understand what they were telling them and then they would disrespect them so bad, I have blessed them out so bad you would not believe it. I can't stand to see and elderly person put down or talked to like a dog. I wouldn't tell the doctor- but go to the person's face.

Yes, anytime I see someone being verbally abused, or if someone is mad and yelling and has a threatening stance, then I go stand right next to that person and look the offender right in the eye.
Or if I hear someone talking trash about someone, I stick up for them as if they were a good friend of mine.

Yes I often do. I remember one specific incident in high school where the lone black kid got ragged on everyday. He was the nicest kid and the bigot of a bus driver said nothing to the punks harassing him. Everyday I defended that poor kid and kicked butt if I had to. They left him alone after awhile and never messed with me. If I had ever treated anyone that way my parents would have sent me to reform school or something drastic. Respect people unless they give you a reason not too.

I taught night school. After one class, a student asked me if I would write a letter to the judge who was about to sentence him for aggravated assault (there was a weapon involved). I barely knew him and I also thought it frightening that I, almost a total stranger, was the only person to whom he could turn. I wrote that letter, based on the fact that he was quiet and polite in class. He passed the course and then dropped out of sight. About a year later, he searched me out to shake my hand and thank me. Apparently, that letter shaved three months off his jail time.

Sure,

I get a good vibe of someone though - and feel if it's a wise cause, why not I would expect the same someday.

In highschool I guess you could say I was in a popular group and sadly, some of my friends were making fun of an autistic kid. I told them to leave him alone. He actually made me cookies for my birthday. It was so sweet.
