I suggest looking up local plays and theatre guilds and joining them. Next work on getting an agent. For that you will need to create a resume and get some professional pictures. From there it should be easy going. Or you could save the money and go to proscout.com. I'm doing a proscout interview because I am pursuing the same dream. I am 11 years old but by the age of 14 at the oldest I plan to be known worldwide. Don't Give Up!!

Hi,

The first thing I would recommend is that you get good training. You might be able to get an agent, but you also want to be able to keep him/her and get sent out on lot of auditions.

I answer questions like this a lot and so instead of writing the same or similar answers over and over again, I have created a 36-page ebooklet that answers your question pretty thoroughly.
Just go to http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/acs-blog.html , sign in on the right side of the page and you can download it for free. It's called: What It Takes To Become An Actor.

That should get you started!

The first step would be to learn to act. You can take a class in school. The second step (which is almost part of the first) is to practice, practice, practice, auditioning for school or community productions is a good place to start. And lastly..know that for a decent lenght of time you will barely have enough money to eat and pay your rent. You have to know that acting is what you love, and be willing to sacrifice other comforts for that love. (But...it's still so worthit!)
