Maybe dig up Johnny Unitas...he'd be a better option than either right now.
And the Steelers are coming for you this season. Tell McNair to have the ice ready when we play.

Whichever player does best in the pre season and whoever the coach decides should be second string. Just because Smith was a Heisman winner doesn't mean he'll be a good NFL QB. 8 of the last 10 QBs that won the Heisman either haven't even played in the NFL (Charlie Ward and Jason White) or haven't had very good careers. Too early to tell with Matt Leinart, but out of the other 10 the only guys that are even worth mentioning are Vinny Testaverde and Carson Palmer. Personally, I don't think Smith or Boller make for a very solid 2nd string QB.

Kyle Boller is the number two QB in Baltimore, unless the Ravens are able to sign Daunte Culpepper. Troy Smith is not ready to be a number two QB in the NFL. Very few rookie QBs ever are. Troy Smith has a lot to improve on (see the BCS Championship game).

Boller should be. He isn't going to ever be the big thing in Baltimore that everyone hoped, but he can manage an efficient game if given the opportunity. Let Smith learn the ropes for a season and maybe he will be the backup/starter next season, or the season after.

heck yes finally someone agrees so he is 3 inches short o no he is the same height as DREW BREES if he is as good as drew brees ravens will win super bowl every year look what he did to the saints and the ravens are alot better then the saints. Troy smith has a cannon mobility and accuracy won heisman trophy and went to championship id tae that overboller anyday. When he is number 1 qb when mcnair is gone and he leads us places and wins games and has good stats i will laugh at people b/c i told them so. It is dumb he dropped from numer 1 draft pick to projected 5-7 round sitting on his couch for three months. I said all the time what a great fit he would be in BAltimore and trhe guy said.... with the 120 pick or somthing the ravens select troy smith i was like whooooooooo b/c i wanted that to happen for months and it did it was amazing

Kyle Boller will be the starter, I believe...i think he has matured well over his last 2 years...i dont think Troy Smith has the natural ability at quarterback to make a starter...he would be a nice option QB though...
