I have my 3 month old on Enfamil with Iron, but today we're almost out, and we cant get more until wednesday, I do have a sample of Similac Advance formula with Iron that came with one of my diapers bag. Will affect my baby if I feed him with the Similac until we get the Enfamil on Wednesday?

It could mess w/ baby's tummy...but I guess if its a choice between baby going without formula or not, do what you have to do. I'm guessing you're on a program like WIC?? Maybe you need to let them know that your baby is going through the formula faster than you thought...good luck

It would be best if you could keep him on his usual formula - switching could cause a tummy upset. If there's no way to get more of his Enfamil though then sure, give the Similac a try. Call your pediatrician and see if they have any samples of Enfamil that they could give you if the reason for not getting it today is financial ... they might be able to help. Or check with a local food bank to see if they might have some on hand. Good luck.

I would say to give it a try. Some babies get gassy, or have other tummy problems when you switch formulas. However, I primarily breastfeed and then use Enfamil for supplementing. I've also switched things up when I had samples to use and none of my kids ever had any problems, so it probably depends upon the baby.

Feed your baby what you have & it should be okay temporarily. If it doesn't agree with your baby, he will let you know. In the future, don't allow yourself to run out of the Enfamil. If it's a store shortage, then there's nothing you can do except find a store that always keeps the Enfamil on hand.

You can but it might make him constipated. Also its really hard to change formulas like that. I had to change formula with my twins about 4 times. The first half of the day they wouldn't even eat it. Once they get use to that formula then it will be hard to get them back on the first one. I'm assuming your on WIC. Me too and every time I ran out I would just have to buy a can. It won't hurt him if you absolutely have to change formula. Just remember is will make your baby really confused.

No, I do not believe that your baby will have a reaction to the formula. However, if your baby is lactose-intolerant, has reflux problems, soy intolerant, or gassy you may want to try and avoid doing so, but I do not believe that for one day it is going to harm him. I had to do it with my daughter when she was a baby and my son, and they were fine.

it should probably be okay, to switch back and forth is not good, but in your situation it will probably be okay.

better to feed them than to starve them until you get more on wednesday!!!!!
