the Scion tC is 8.4 seconds and the Mazda 6 is 7.6

the Scion tC number someone gave before is based on the TRD supercharger that is an option on the earlier years.

Go with the Mazda 6

The Scion Tc has 161 HP and front-wheel drive, and weighs 2905 lbs (manual transmission option). The Mazda 6 S has 212 HP, front-wheel drive, and weighs 3320 lbs (manual transmission option). The 32% greater horsepower of the Mazda more than makes up for its 14% larger weight. The Mazda should win any acceleration contest.

Additionally, the cars will have similar aerodynamic profiles, and similar amounts of drag at high speeds. A (properly-geared) car's top speed for a given drag coefficient goes as the car's power output to the 1/3 power.

(1.32)^(1/3) = 1.096

So, unless they have wildly different aerodynamic shapes, the Mazda will have a top speed about 10% greater than the Scion.
