I once called a dude a hustler and he broke down crying on the spot; so being in the wrong place/time, being sneaky wil yield this, but getting it from all sides mean the person is the 'why did you do this to me' type, unable to accept responsible or meaning for it and bound for failure taking you with them. If after hearing and considering, its not so, call them on it being them projecting(psychological defense) on you and say they need time to think about accusing.
