Its a very nice betta...one of the nicest looking ones I've seen. I personally just bought a betta...it's a blueish purple with dark purple tips. It's body is kind of plain but his face was so cute I had to get him. Mines name is Mr. FancyFins...lol my sis helped name him. Anyways...I bought a one gallon for my fish...I read on many websites and that was a perfectly exceptable size. I didn't know till later that pet stores sell tanks that are too small and say it's ok for a betta. Personally though, my betta swims around a ton, and built a huge bubblenest. So I think he's fine at least for now. I'm going to get a bigger tank before winter hits...it gets cold here so I need a heater. Anyways...you only should need to do a complete water change once a week. Get a kit to test amonia levels...there shouldn't be any amonia. Personally more water changes just stress the fish out...so the kit will help you decide the best cleaning schedule. Elvis is a cute name. The mirror is just fine...but only for a few minutes at a time. Too much flaring can be stressful. But a little exercise is said to help improve their lifespan.

you have an extremely super betta. i think of you're doing a good job of looking after him. He seems fantastic. be optimistic you adjust his water in many circumstances and to dechlorinate and you'd be fantastic. Elvis is a good call for a fish.

Yes, yes,yes and avoid confusing the fact that he gets energised by his reflection as "liking it". It is stressful so keep it to a minimum in the best interest of the fish.

your fish is nice
it looks in good shape
bettas usually like small tanks over big ones
but to me your fish looks more like a stanley then a elvis
but elvis works too

What a pretty guy you have! :D

My most colorful betta was a red, white, and blue one. (His fins were dark blue, and his body red and white.) I named him Patriot. xD

Looks like you're taking good care of him. Be sure to keep it up!

thats a beautiful betta but just so you know. bettas are fighting fish, when they see another betta they fight it to the death. so putting a mirror to him is not smart at all! he will eventually kill himself trying to get to the "other betta" in the mirror

He looks good. Try getting him a 5 gal w/ a filter. They do enjoy the space!
