i believe half of what you talking about is and illusion and the other half is people waking up to whats going on in the world.
The half that is an illusion is really just information becoming more readily available. It's giving you the impression that everyone is going crazy. In reality we've always been crazy, we just find out about it a lot easier now because of the internet and because we are becoming more educated and aware.
The other half is basically the same thing. Because we are becoming more educated and aware and have access to information more readily than our grandparents, we can find out how bad things are in the world and we can find alternative perspectives easier. In the past we were left to believe what we read in the news paper unless some brave individual fought the system and exposed the truth for us.
You and everyone else should be outraged at whats going on in your country and in the world, it's healthy because it brings about change. However, knowledge brings power so now we can do things our grandparents never could, like cleaning up the world and securing peace and justice for people.

As a teacher, I can tell the decline in the morales of society in just 13 years. I was raised with both parents, who supplied a very loving and nurturing home environment. I know that was not the case of everyone, even when I was growing up, but it was the norm. Today, it is not the norm, when you have upper elem. kids:sexually active, using drugs, and no curfews, I have to ask, where are the parents? Don't get me wrong, still lots of good families, and in my eyes all children are good, maybe misguided, but good. My dilemma is government still expects every child to pass mandated tests. Every child can learn, but when some have been out all night, makes teaching challenging. Where I'm from, DHS will do nothing, not enough homes to take children away.

What kind of "morals" are you talking about, anyway?? Superficial ones, like not allowing gays to get married (which shouldn't even BE an issue in a free society)..or America's morals, which include promoting peace and cultural unity and preserving our environment and making the world a safer place for our children? If the latter..then yes, I agree America's morals are detereorating..we've gone mad because we're in war; history repeats itself time and time again..
PS nobody died when Clinton lied...

It has it's roots with the flawed ideology of"if it feels good do it"philosophy that has taken over as the prominant doctrine of our state of the union.Any moral compass that gets in the way of that(most religions)is met with harsh critisism because people today don't want to be told what is not the right thing to do.They want to do whatever they want to do,with little regard on how it affects anyone else.Evidence of this ideology is evident with the abundance of political correctness or the being too nice and not hurt any feeling initiative.Where is the tough love.

I agree that Bill Clinton has contributed a devastating blow to morals and standards.
Our school children sat and watched and listened as PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON lied to the American public, Congress, his wife and the world. He denigrated the status of President to its lowest level ever, he brought shame and disgust of the world upon the USA. Not only that, he lied to the US when he ran for office saying every citizen would have medical care as soon as he was elected. We all know how THAT went...
Bill Clinton helped lower the standards of social values to the point where they have nowhere to go but up. Teens today are told by their parents that Bill Clinton was a great man, so the teens and children assume that lying is fine, marriage means nothing and you can tell Congress whatever your attorney mentality says is ok.
Sad sad state of affairs...I get sick when I look at his fat face.

No, it was 'freedom of speech' and 'freedom of expression'. People were always like that, only now they are allowed to behave how they want. I agree it is not neccessarily the best way. People need boundaries and morals, it is humbling and good for us. Yes the world HAS gone to hell.

in todays world both parents are having to work to make ends meet so there's less parental involvement in raising children. also the movies and the electronic games that parents are letting there children play and watch are having a lot to do with it. how many times do our children go to court after a vicious crime and say i saw it in a movie and thought it looked fun. ther's also more and more violence seen in the news every night and the newspapers every morning.parents are expecting the schools to raise their children which is wrong thinking these teachers go home at night and have their own kids to raise. sloution..... i have none.

Morals were taught to youngsters by their elders...as we no longer,in most cases, live our lives near our extended family, many have never been exposed to the wisdom and common sense that can only come thru years of experience...In other words, stop warehousing old people...

You mean when society looked the other way at domestic violence, or when we had Jim Crow laws that made blacks and whites use separate bathrooms? I am not so sure we were that much better off before.
