There is a switch located under the ebrake handle that may be bad try to jiggle it and watch the light,, or if you have to push down on the lever to make the light go out(lever wont return to rest by itself) that would indicate there is a problem in the ebrake cables, or rear brake calipers

It is most likely the sensor in the master cylinder cap either malfunctioning or reading low fluid. If the fluid is above minimum level unplug the wires to the cap if the light goes out it's the sensor in the cap, replace it.If your fluid is low have the brakes checked. The fluid will only be low if there is a leak or the friction material is worn.Don't add fluid until the brakes are checked,if it is just pads you will have a mess when the calipers are opened up for the new pads.

This recently happend to me in my car. I took it to the shop thinking i needed new brakes, but all that was wrong was that I needed a new brake light bulb. You could either need a bulb, brake fluid, new brake pads/rotors..? It could be any of these things. I would suggest bringing your car to a mechanic to check the problem out. It'd be worth it to know if your brakes are going to go out on you.

If the e-brake is off and the fluid point is okay, you in all probability have a bad fluid point change, its the little choose for the flow equipped into the grasp cyl cap. unplug the wires going to the cap, if the sunshine is going out-replace it

I would check the brake fluid under the hood first. It's probably low, causing your light to stay on. Top off the fluid to see if that turns off the light, If it does, have your brakes checked cause they're probably low on pads.

Not on this model. However in the ones I have seen it there it was one of two things-
Out of adjustment cable
A rotor that was too thin that also had pads that were worn (resulting in the system not returning far enough to register released).
