Well I just finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and it was a really good buck and a good way to end the series, but there is another chapter at the end that J.K. Rowling put that showed the characters in the future, 19 years later. The subject of the chapter was too short to be a chapter and I would rather have that chapter made into a short book, but I guess not. Who else thinks that the last book kind of was killed by this chapter?

Well there can't be a best answer for this because it is an opinion question.

nope. I thought it was very thoughtful of her to let the readers know what happened to Harry after all he's been through. if she didn't, she would have left us hanging.

It would be the traditionally literary thing for Rowling to do. Harry's mom's love for him is what saved him from Voldemort the first time, right? (Admittedly, I've only watched the movies, but I know people who have read the books). This would mean that love must conquer evil. It stands to reason that Harry's love for his friends (which is a running theme throughout all the books) is what will save them and conquer Voldemort...Plus it would make Harry a Christ-like figure, which is the traditionally literary thing to do. Lots of books and movies do this because sacrificing yourself is the ultimate sacrifice. Saying some spell would be taking the easy way out if you ask me. The best part about it would be that millions of kids all over the world would totally freak out if she killed off Harry. I think that would be awesome.

I also think that it should have been made into a short book. But since she decided not to, I think it was awesome that she added that chapter!! If it wasn't added then everyone would have been asking if Ron and Hermione got married or if Harry became Headmaster. So adding it also answered many questions people would have had.

For some reason I couldn't picture Harry as a 36 year old with kids...I didn't really like "Nineteen Years Later". But the rest of the book was BRILLIANT the best out of all!

It really was unnecessary to add the last chapter, it ruined the feeling you got at the end of the book. But I enjoyed knowing that Harry and Draco are on speaking terms, and are now accepting of eachother.

I don't! I loved the tribute to James, Lily, Dumbledore, and Snape. The reappearance of Teddy Lupin and the children of Bill and Fleur, Ron and Hermione, Harry and Ginny, and Malfoy were awesome! I would've been disappointed if this chapter had not been in the book. My one disappointment was Hugo Weasley. I mean, come on: Hugo?

But other than that, it was awesome.

I thought it did kind of avert the attention away from the battle of good against evil to the character's love lives. It was a nice ending that I'm sure pleased many HP fans, but I agree, it wasn't a great ending. I did like how you found out about the characters later though.

I was surprised that one of the children wasn't named after Fred.

as for my own opinion, it would really be great if JKR adds another chapter before the "nineteen years after" which would tell us what happen after the war. ex: what happen with the weasleys after fred's death. what happen with tonks and lupin's baby. about hogwarts after the war and kreacher now that she treat harry as her master.

as i was reading the epilogue, icant imagine harry potter as 36-yr-old man. my mind still set that theyre 17-yr-old kid.

but over all, the book was great though i still have so many unanswered questions.

the teenagers need to know who married who and how many babies they had. It didn't riun it for me, it was just a little fluffy, thats all.
