I'm not really sure. All the wendy's by me have closed due to the owner not paying the employees nor were they paying into the Wendy's corporation like they should of been. Supposely the "rumor" going around here is that a private party is going to buy the closed down wendy's restaurants and re-open them as a different restaurant.

The very first Wendy's in Columbus, Ohio closed its doors for good yesterday after having been in business for thirty seven years. The reason given was lagging sales. That's the only one I've heard about.

Wendys is posting a loss every quarter and the company that owns Arbys is trying to buy the Wendys corp. Wendys keeps turning down the offeres to buy however so it's still in negotiation. I know this because my best friend is a high up at Arbys

No they are not closing, they only closed the original first Wendy's down in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The restaurant has no drive-through window, has limited parking. The first restaurant was struggling.
Also Wendy's is a public company trading on the New York Stock Exchange and the symbol is WEN. They have over 6,000 restaurants in many countries around the World and they have over 50,000 employees. The sell billions of dollars each year and they make hundreds of millions of dollars each year. In the future they will have over 100,000 employees and they will have over 10,000 restaurants and they will make over a billion each year.

RE:
Wendy's corporation closing?!?!?
I've heard recently from a co-worker that the Wendy's coporation is closing down. I've heard it is because they haven't been paying rent or their employees.
I have dove by one and it was closed, no one there.
My question is, are they actually closing down? And is anyone else...

I only heard about the original, first wendy's closing down, in Ohio.
The one near me is open. They are the only fast-food restaurant I ever go to. If they close, that's a shame.
