Well she uses the word basta rd 2 times and rons mum bellows BITC H in the book. In all the other books if they swore she would use a term like (ron said something very bad to Draco that it made hermornie gasp). Did she stop caring and do you think parents knew about this

They do have meanings. Lots of meanings and lots of connotations. They are useful words in the right situation. Those being: to express or invoke emotion, to create shock value, to make a statement sound hilarious. Considering the fact that you are at a level in school that forbids swearing, they are probably being used primarily for the second reason. And that is simply immature. You shouldn't use them in school because it's disrespectful to the adults, the fellow students, and the entire establishment. And you should care because respect is vital to social success. Meaning: you will have more friends and influence if you are respectful of everyone. So use swear words only when it is truly meaningful and appropriate. I don't know why adults have such a hard time explaining this. They would rather just say, "No! Because I said so."

It's not that she's stopped caring. She knows the ages of people who read her books and she's a parent herself.
Using curse words was realistic considering the age of the kids and what was going on. She didn't have people curse while talking about the tea kettle or just in normal conversation.
I'll use Mrs. Weasley as an example. That was an intense situation where, realistically, a parent would be pissed and prone to cursing. Not necessarially on purpose.

I believe there have been words in most of the books. I find that sad. It's not necessary for the books. Believe it not folks, not all teens swear.
If she didn't have them in there no one would have said, "Hey she didn't swear - why not??" So why bother in the first place.
It's like the movies these days - in order to get a PG rating they need a couple of words in them that aren't necessary but they don't want a G rating so they shove them in.

its a natural progression, the kids in the book are grownup, and its natural for a few swars to be used. Form what I've read of brit-lit she is very tame, most books seem full of swears, even the young adult books.
hell, they use those words on the Simpsons and its marketed to kids too.

Well, Ron, Harry, and Hermione are older now. I guess JK thought that all the kids who grew up with the series were older 2

i think they were necessary for the story. Sometimes swear words display emotion, you get the point. the surprising fact was the small innuendos in the story, i really little kids read this... but i guess that was progression.

oh who cares. those words are used a lot in the real world so just get used to it. it's not a big deal and kids are going to hear it sooner or later.
