i do. i bought a couple dozen of my favorite 1980s albums with me on the move down here, and they sit still stowed away. it took a few months to find the power cord for my turntable, but due to furniture arragements, it's still not connected to the rest of the equipment. so it sits on a crate sad, round, and unloved. a little bit like charlie brown!

looking through the boxes, i find among others...

dire straits, brothers in arms
inxs, shabooh shoobah
steve winwood, arc of a diver
pink floyd, a momentary lapse of reason
U2, wide awake in america
stevie wonder's original musiquarium 1 AND 2
fleetwood mac, rumours

good stuff moon :)

maybe that's a project for this weekend, thanks for the reminder!

We have about three thousand around the house, carefully alphabetized and sorted by category. I usually get rid of the record if we get the CD, as long as all of the album notes and original format are intact. Some of the albums will never be converted to CD however, and we will have to keep them around pretty much forever. We are especially fond of Ed McCurdy's "When Dalliance Was In Flower"
Volume One nad Two (although we only have the cover for Volume one - Boo Hoo) I am also very very fond of a Horald Griffiths Album that we found in a cutout bin years ago. I have memorized several of the songs, and believe it or not, it's the second copy because I lent the first one to a friend. The second one never comes cheap by the way. I found that out the hard way with that one, as well as a David Wilcox album, Some Garnet Rogers, and a couple albums I actually played on! (back when I was young and foolish) Most of the CDs are greatest hits albums, although I heard there was actually a CD of the Young Rascals "Groovin" album that was put out in the same format as the original. We are looking for that one because our poor old record is barely playable any more.

We have a turntable permanently hooked up to the sound system and my wife got me a USB turntable to hook up to the computer. We haven't really figured out how to archive the cover art (it's dumb, but it's kind of important to me) so I haven't done much in that regard. I still buy records when I can find them, but mostly at thrift stores. Folk Music is especially hard to find remastered, so if I can find it in any format, I grab it up like a happy puppy. Are you looking for anything particularly in Vinyl?

Yes!!!!!!!!!!

A FEW !

A long time ago
In a far out world!!!
HaHa!!!

But. YES I DO.....

Sometime back in the 60's I belong to a club called...
RCA Music Club. And after full filling my membership requirements. I was then able to receive "free" 33 1/3 albums for everyone that I purchase. Then I also... Joined the Columbia House Record Club and they too was just like RCA. To make a long story [short].

At last inventory.... Between my wife & me.... We've collected about

1500 to 2000 albums

Unknown total of 45's

Unknown total cassettes
& Now
CD's.....

And to make matters worse....

My aunt gave me about 100 too 150
Old & 78 RPM Records.
Which were used back much longer ago when people had only radios to listen to. These are like "Bing Cosby, Danny Kaye & others". There are also "The Green Hornet and others to which I can not think of at this moment."

I personally love music of all most all types. Such music that degrades women and promotes violence - I can do without.

Thanks for asking. A very good question.

Yes I still have vinyls - a large collection. But I rarely play them now, except in the studio. I haven't time - CD's are more convenient though the sound is different.

Yes, Moon... I have a bunch, even 38s and I know I won't find half of them anywhere today.
Have you ever heard of Howdy Doody? It's very old and still plays fine.

I will have a wonderful night and you take care.

Yes, and I plan to keep them. Every once in a while, I'll play some to reminisce the times in my life when they came out. While they may crackle a bit, they do have a warmer feel and softer tone to them that you can't get from tapes or CD's.

I still own some vinyl records. I don't have a turntable anymore, but I am reluctant to part with then just yet. Maybe one day.
