I'm planning to build a house, but I'm not sure how much it will cost to wire a house for about 10 outlets with cable, internet, and phone capabilities. Does anyone know? I appreciate any feedback.

On avg. each outlet will cost between $50-65 or $85 for a duplex.
Contact a local Low Voltage company and specify what you want and your budget.
Shop around you should be able to get up to 10 outlets and a SW Can for around $800
Read up on "Smart House Wiring" it will benefit you today and in the long run for resale.
Over wire and leave in wall, take pictures and measurements for future use of wires.
Shop around for contractors

Why don't you learn to do it yourself? There is a great book at Home Depot type places, by Black & Decker, that gives you info and many pictures of the various circuits. It really is pretty easy to learn, but you also need to read Code as there are specific rules about houses...like numbers of outlets per various rooms, etc. There is another book, named Wiring Simplified, that tries to explain code requirements...and it goes into what is required for each room in a house.

I just did this to a new garage building and I was really surprised at how much it cost for just the wires and outlets. I'd hate to see what the electrician's bid would have been. It has passed the county's "rough inspection", so I did it right, by the way.

If learning the task isn't for you, then get a few electricians to give you a bid...as each area has a different price structure. My answer assumes you, as the homeowner, have the right to complete your own work. That is not true in ALL jurisdictions, and you still need a permit.

The electrical contractor normally does the cable and phone inside the home. What you mentioned will be a very small addition to the house wiring bill. When you have the plans (drawings), get three or so bids on the electrical. Tell the contractor everything you want. Add-ons later can get expensive. Get a licensed contractor and check him or her out with the BBB or something like it.

Well the best thing you could do is call an electricion or a contracter and ask them how much it would cost to wire a house like that because every one has different prices

You would be best to call your local cable & phone co for prices. An electrician would cost you way more. Even a local contractor would probably be cheeper than an electrician. Shop around & you could even look in your local yellow pages.

Probably wouldn't be an electrician - contact the cable company for cable, phone company for phone and whichever of the 2 your internet willbe for that.
