There are to many variable to give you a definitive answer. A new fridge i think also 2nd hand your not even supposed to switch it on for a few hours its to do with the Refrigerant, and yes it takes some time to reach its optimum temperature, until then your not supposed to put things in it. A lot of people would have packed them with ice in the interim period. Common sense prevails here anything that could potentially develop bacteria or pathogens should to be cautious thrown away IE dairy and white meat.

No, I check it every so often.
Though there is 20 ears of sweet corn I just picked yesterday so the may be rotten if they don't get eaten in the next 5 days.

Yeah, that's funny, the bread I reached for this morning for toast was molded, but I was not awake enough yet to think to throw it out and I just tossed it back in the fridge.

Probably. I check every now and then and if it looks really bad-or smells especially terrible-it goes, but my smeller has been on the fritz. It's ok if cheese is green-right?
