Well, I can't think of any particular day that I want to die. Usually when you ask the question of "Would you want to live forever?" People's answers are conditional. Consider some examples of what I am talking about.
I would want to live forever if:
The world I lived in was a much nicer place,
I was young, healthy, and felt good,
I had family and good friends to share my life with.
I had things that are interesting to me to learn about ,
My life was meaniful and filled with accomplishments,
I had things to look forward to each day.

So yes, if these conditions were met I would like to live forever. I would also like to add that almost all religions are death orientated: they only talk about living forever if there is some intangible part of you which surves the death of your body.

I believe in living forever in a physical body right here on earth.

Once people conquer the fear of death, living a lifetime isn't such a bad thing. The problems of overcrowding and poverty would be horific if were to live forever. Some die and make room for new members of our species to take our place.

The world's population tripled from 2 billion to 6 billion in a very short time -- and that's with people dying regularly. Immortality is a nightmare waiting to happen.

As a physical being, no. If you live forever and the universe happens to cease to exist or gets destroyed or WHATEVER, you would still be alive!!! No food, no water, no oxygen, no light possibly, HELL NO!!! That would be hell.

Yes, I would love to! Life is such a great thing, and 75-80 years is far shorter than the blink of an eye in the cosmic scheme of things. There is SOOOO much to do, to see, to learn, to experience, places to travel to, people to meet and befriend, hobbies and professions to take up, etc. etc. I want to see the future and I want to see it all! All the ups & downs, all the triumphs and tragedies. I want to watch the human race evolve and finally grow into a mature, rational, peaceful species with no more need of the shackles of religions or governments. I want to see the bulb of enlightenment grow ever brighter in our species. I want to watch and participate as we at last spread out amongst the stars.

The three main objections I see against wanting to live forever are: 1. "I won't reach the afterlife." 2. "I'll have to keep watching loved ones die." and 3. "I'd get bored after a while."

1. Well I for one am an atheist and regard the afterlife as just another invention of human mythology, something we came up with to comfort us against the finality of death. Even if there was an afterlife though, there's something to be said for making one's own heaven & hell right here on Earth. If there is a heaven, and I'm pretty darn sure there isn't, then no one there will miss me, and I'm more than content in this life.

2. Losing loved ones is never easy. I recently lost my dad to cancer, and although I miss him dearly, life must go on. Losing loved ones is a hard part of life, but it is a part of life nonetheless, even for us mortals. I can picture an immortal gaining a zen-like acceptance of death, grieving for loved ones when they pass but still knowing that your time spent with them was worth it.

3. Bored? I don't have nearly enough time to do all that I want to do now! Boredom is for those uncreative enough to think of something to do. At the rate new books come out, I could spend all of eternity just reading and never come close to running out of things to read. But throw in relationships with countless people, traveling all over (first all over this planet, then later out into the universe), doing whatever hobbies and professions suit your fancy, etc. Yeah, I could keep myself occupied for a REAL long time. And by the time I've done it all, I'll have either forgotten half of it or it'll have been long enough that I'll want to do it again.

Any way I look at it, an immortal future would be priceless.

In a heartbeat.

Sorry, too Zen. Let's try poetry.

This universe is full of wonder,
And magnificent deeds undone.
Here sits mortal me,
A beggar hoping God...
...will drop a bit more time in my cup.

It would get awfully lonely. All your friends and family would die before you, and I imagine after a time I'd get tired of life.
