When I was 7 or 8 for dance shows. Tell your mom eyeshadow is safer to use, and agreeing to let you wear eyeliner but not shadow makes no sense. Careful though, she might pull out and say you cant wear either. Basically, if you can buy it yourself than you could wear it. Put it on after she drops you off from school or something.

Your mom is just trying to prevent you from growing up too fast. Tell her you understand, but if that you could go off and start drinking or doing drugs if she doesnt give you a little bit of freedom.

Good luck.

I'm 13. I've been "forced" to wear makeup since I was 10. I didn't wear eyeliner though. Although I did wear eye shadow sometimes. I say "forced" because I had acne and my mother thought it looked horrible without makeup. I'm glad I wore it though. It always looked natural, and people would always tell me that I had beautiful skin. But they didn't know what was under the concealer and powder. A good thing about starting to wear makeup early is that you know how to put it on. I know a lot of girls my age that don't wear makeup, and a lot that do. It's really no big deal. But what I would do is start wearing eyeliner without your mom's conset. But start with very little, and say something like, "Mom, my eyes are just say pretty looking today, do they always look like that?" If she says yes, continue to wear it and start applying more and more. When she finally notices, say well you said it looked good. She's bound to fall for it.

My junior high school did not allow makeup as far as I can remember. I guess, the 9th grade for both then? Probably sooner, that seems like a long time not to wear it. I don't know. Your mom is being kind of ridiculous. If you are a good kid you should get to do it because you have been angelic and polite enough to ask to do so. If you were a bad kid you would just wear it anyway. I don't understand what her problem is, but then again I don't have children. If it was me I would get to school early and put it on there. What's she gonna do, I mean, really?

I started wearing eyeshadow in like 5th grade. Just light eye shadow, like pink.

I started wearing eyeliner and mascara, and everything else, in 7th grade. Well, I tried to wear eyeliner, but i really suck at putting it on so I just put on dark eye shadow.

Start out by asking your mom if you could use a really light colored eyeshadow, like a neutral, a natural. Almost skin color. Then slowly make it brighter or something like that.

My mom let me have eyeshadow and mascara in 6th grade. I had to wait until high school for eyeliner, lipstick and blush. Maybe if you pick some really subtle colors, your mom will agree to let you wear a little eyeliner.

I love these eye pencils they have, it's like a liner and shadow in one. Maybe if you and your mom go shopping for it together you can agree on something.

i didnt have to ask. it just kind of happened when i was about 12. i started with eyeliner when i was 13 but eyeshadow when i was 12. and i know my mom is okay with it because she has complemented me on it before. i am also very talented at [ not to boast ] applying makeup and color-matching so, normally, it didnt look like a train wreck. i think when mothers are concerned about their children or teens wearing makeup, it's usually because they don't want their children/teens to be embarassed because they put too much eyeshadow on or their mascara is running, etc. don't worry if your mother doesnt let you. follow your heart.
hope this helps and good luck**
