4x = 10 - cy
when x = 5, y = -2,
4(5) = 10 - c(-2)
20 = 10 + 2c
2c = 10
c = 5

The answer is A. infinitely Why? Well, let's lookat that equation closely: 11x - 99 = 11(x - 9) If we use the Distributive proberty and multiply the numbers on the right side of the equation, we'll get: 11(x - 9) = 11x - 99 You should now see that both sides of the equation are identical, which means that there isn't just 1 answer, or 2 answers. It's infinity! I'm in 6th grade and I could do this :)

Rewrite the equation to
c = (10 - 4x)/y
Plug in the values (5, -2)
c = (10 - 4(5))/-2 = -10/-2 = 5

4(5)=10-c(-2)
20= 10+2c
10=2c
5=c
I believe that is correct. The 2 negatives (-c and -2) should make it a positive number.
