Why does everyone else in the world call soccer, football?

we call it fussball....in south america they call it fotbol or something like that....I guess every country has there own word for soccer!

well technically that is the original name.. People that are from England & Scotland call it football.. but in the US, most of the people call it soccer.. I actually played British soccer and learned alot. They call it football cause you play with your foot and such.. The English game soon developed into what us Americans call soccer.. i know alot more but idw to take up the whole page.. lOl..

Because you use your FEET to play. We Americans just HAD to be different and called football soccer. In other places they call our football Americana Football.

It's actually spelled futball in Europe. That's what it was and is called. The American sport football is a take-off on soccer.
