I dont understand it either.
I have never watched sports really.
I couldnt tell you hardly anything about the teams or the rules or anything about it.
Do you think many people are sort of "brain washed" to like it by peer pressure?

I have to agree with you, Whatever. Football is a silly sport, the athletes covered practically faceless in padding and helmets. Most of the game time is meandering around, setting things up for the next scrimmage. A sportswriter once timed a Super Bowl with a stopwatch -- there was only 17 minutes of action!! Almost as unnatural a "sport" as NASCAR.

It's war without bloodshed
Like all sports it is a tribal ritual, but it is without doubt the most simplistic of sports with the fewest of rules and it is cheap. It can be played in the most deprived places on the planet, all you need is a ball and a few items of clothing, or sticks for goals.

Nah, I don't think that they are "brain washed" to like it. I guess they just think it's entertaining. But personally I'd rather be playing than watching. Haha. I hardly know any of the rules, but it's fun...especially tackle. :D I can throw good. haha. But yah...I don't know any of the rules. All I can say is that it's fun! LOL.

i don't watch it, but i play and its great knowing that you are getting stronger and you can get all your anger out on the Field and hit people and not get in trouble.
and it feels great when you tackle someone!
