If so, why? Did the Dr suggest it? Etc. My daughter has been on soy almost from birth. I am switching insurance and Pediatrician and this is one of the questions I am going to ask the new pediatrician. She started taking it because she kept throwing up regular formula.

I havent been able to. The doctor said try at 6 months, then at 8 and 10. Now we'll just wait till she is 12 months and switch to milk if possible. Really the soy formula has as much nutrition as the normal. Twenty years ago it was still getting there, but now its identical.
A friend of mine switched her baby at 10 months, but the doctor said she didnt have to.

When my son was born i went through a stressful time so i was only able to breast feed for 3 months. Once i put my son on formula i found he would be sick after every feed. I tryed formula after formula from regular to soy etc. After months and many unused tins of formula a got a second opinion. The second doc sent my son for a Barrium meal test where they put an additive into their bottle (i think its a lead based) and use a machine to test them for reflux. When my son was 10 months old finally he was diagnosed with reflux and put on medication. Once on nthe medication he was able to drink/eat anything without throwing up. Thankfully most cases of reflux the child grows out of and as was the case with my son. Maybe you should get her checked out for reflux. Hope this helps

I wouldn't use soy formula because of the associated side effects to large amounts of soy. However cows milk has similar problems. Goats milk formula is availibale, and it doesn't have the same problems that the other types of formula have.

We started out with soy because i didn't even notice it wasn't real milk. When i finally realized it wasn't real milk and switched it wasn't as delicate on my boy's tummy as the soy. It made him gassy. The good thing about soy is that it's more gentle on the tummy. If your baby is allergic to milk, soy's best.

It is not good to do alot of formula switching even if she is breastfeeding more often than not also talk to your pedi about the spitting up because you may be able to switch to a different formula that is what i suggest and good luck to you

My daughter had allergies to milk. So her doctor put her on soy. She now drinks milk and no longer has any allergic reactions to it.

If it's not organic soy I wouldn't give it her, chances are the soy she is drinking is genetically-manipulated.

Check the ingredients for: Tempeh, miso, soy sauce, soy milk, etc.) which are organic. All other soy ingredients are almost always genetically-manipulated and herbicide-treated...
