Barry Bond's lawyer Michael Rains said this statement about Bonds perjury allegation in the steroid investigations.

"This investigation is based on the political considerations of this [presidential] administration," Rains told the Mercury News. "The BALCO case is a legacy of Bush, and it is a catastrophic failure -- legally and from a public-relations standpoint."

What is the basis for his allegation that this is a "legacy for Bush"? Wouldn't it be a negative for Bush since he was the owner of the Texas Rangers during the "steroid era"?

legacy of bush bla bla bla..the usual liberal credo of duck and cover from the real issue. dont' address the facts of the case that your client is a fraud criminal lying perjurer.

the legacy was from the 90's where bonds, mcguire, sosa, caminetti and others destroyed the integrity of baseball. the fact is that they are all criminals and should prosecuted regardless of any political party affiliations.

bonds will be prosecuted for perjury after the season. he admitted to taking the "cream" which was steroids from BALCO. he was also tested for meth? or some kind of stimulant he subsequently blamed on another player mark sweeney who has far more class than i do because i would cleaned bond's clock right after his passin the buck to me.

He's a delusional liberal. Liberals blame Bush for everything, so what do you expect??? Of course that scumbag wasn't going to take responsibility, just like Bonds never will. All Bonds will ever say is "duh, I never knew what that stuff was. I never knowingly took steroids." Blah blah.

That's the craziest thing I've heard all day. You know it's crazy when a liberal actually defends the President.
