The fans who "say" that they would destroy the ball are idiots. They have absolutely no respect for the game and what seeing this record broken means for us true baseball fans. They are probably the same fans who watch the NFL and cheer for Shawn Merriman and all the other players who obviously take steroids.

If I were to catch the HR record breaking ball, I would want to personally deliver it to Barry and shake his hand. I would tell him congratulations, and thank him for giving us fans something to watch for over the past couple of years.... then I would ask for an autograph.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a Giants fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I for one find it exciting that there could be a new home run king in the upcoming weeks.

I'd keep the ball and sell it to the highest bidder, even though it will not pass seven figures. In any case, I'd be rich!

You are an idiot for defacing the ball and rendering it worthless. I'd take the money and run!

Haha, Aaron S is right. But anyways, i would sell it on ebay and make some moneyyy. What I would like to do is throw it back onto the field, but I would rather make some cash.

I'd hold on to it, and personally deliver it to Cooperstown. I don't want anyone to make money off of it, and I don't want Bonds to get it. Let it be a history lesson there.

If I caught it at Wrigley, I would honor the Wrigley tradition and throw it back to the outfield grass.
