I have had 3 children, and 3 miscarriages. All 6 pregnancies I bled slighly - when you wipe there is a bit of blood, and maybe a little bit on the panties - between weeks 4 and 6. This was always normal for me. My miscarriages happened a little later in the first trimester, and there is a lot more blood and terrible cramps. Either way, call your doctor. With every pregancies, I called, and they sceduled an ultrasound right away to make sure the baby was OK.

implantation bleeding would only be apparent when you wipe. It may be mixed with some CM, but its very very minimal blood and only for less than a day, maybe even just once or twice when you use the restroom.
Miscarriage would start off as spotting, like when you start your period..so you would probably need a liner or a pad, and then it would get heavier. It could take a long time before it gets heavy (if it does), unless you have a D&C done.

implantation bleeding is spotting that is light pink to brown and occasionally can have bit tinged of blood to it. Hardly enough to fill up a pantyliner. And it can last anywhere from 1 day to 10 days. Miscarriage bleeding is heavy (passing clots) accompany with painful severe Cramps

usually when you are bleeding due to implantation the blood has more mucus. If you are having a miscarriage you might experience cramps, pear colored tissue in the blood and the blood might be a darker color than usual. How late is ur period?

I've been through both. The implantation bleeding for me was brown and spotty for three days or so. The miscarrage bleeding was red and brown, and kept on for days. Hope the best for the dear one you are worried about.
